Privacy Policy

Last updated November 4, 2026

Team Murphy Media is an independent local newsroom in Smyrna, Delaware. This policy explains what information we receive through teammurphymedia.com and our newsroom tools, what we do with it, and the choices you have.

When you contact us

If you email us at DJ@TeamMurphyMedia.com, or call or text the business line at 443-207-2120 — to send a news tip, ask a question, or anything else — we receive your email address or phone number and whatever you send us. We use it to respond to you, to check facts, and to report the news. We do not sell or rent readers' contact information. If you send us a tip, we may use the information in our reporting under our Terms of Use; if you want your name kept out of a story, say so when you write and we will honor it. One standing rule: a tip about a crime, an emergency, or a missing person belongs with the police first — we are the megaphone, not the police tip line.

Supporter payments

Supporter payments and donations are made through Stripe's hosted checkout pages (the buy.stripe.com links on our Support section). Your card number is collected and processed by Stripe on Stripe's own pages — it never passes through this website, and we never see or store your full card number. Stripe provides us limited details — your name, email address, and the amount and tier — so we can administer supporter support. Payments made through Cash App or PayPal are handled on those services under their own privacy policies. Stripe's policy is at stripe.com/privacy.

Technical information and cookies

This website is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare automatically records standard technical logs — your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the time of the request — to operate and secure the site. Our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser requests font files from Google's servers when a page loads. Beyond that: we run no analytics service, no advertising trackers, and no social-media pixels on this site, and the only script we ship is our own Delaware clock widget. This site does not set tracking or advertising cookies; our hosting provider may use strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site from abuse.

Public Facebook Page content and Meta's Graph API

Part of our news gathering happens where Delaware's public agencies publish their official announcements: Facebook. Team Murphy Media accesses public content on official public Facebook Pages — for example the Delaware State Police and other police, fire, government, and school Pages — through Meta's official Graph API, using the Page Public Content Access feature. What we read is limited to content those Pages have published publicly: public posts, and public comments on those posts. We do not access private profiles, content shared with friends only, private groups, or anyone's messages, and we cannot see anything a Page has not made public.

We use this public content for news verification and reporting — checking facts against the issuing agency's own post before we publish — and to maintain Still Missing 302, our board of missing and endangered children, which republishes alert information issued by law enforcement so it can be found in one place. We do not sell, license, or share this data, and we do not use it for advertising, targeting, or profiling individuals. A public post remains the publication of the Page that posted it. If a copy of public content we hold identifies you and you want our copy deleted, see our Data Deletion Instructions.

Information about missing children

Still Missing 302 republishes information that law enforcement agencies have publicly released about missing children — names, photographs, physical descriptions, and case contact numbers — as a public service to help bring them home. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through this website. If you are a parent or guardian and believe information we republish is inaccurate or should come down — for example because a case has been resolved — contact us and we will act on it promptly. Resolved cases come off the board.

How we share information

We do not sell personal data. We share information only in these cases: with the service providers who run the site and the payments (our host and Stripe), as needed for them to do their work; where a message involves a crime, an emergency, or a missing person, we may pass it to the police — and our standing advice is to contact police first; and when required by law.

Keeping and deleting information

We keep emails and messages for as long as the news record reasonably requires. You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — the exact steps are on our Data Deletion Instructions page.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the site and our tools change; the current version always lives at this address with its date shown. Questions about this policy: DJ@TeamMurphyMedia.com · 443-207-2120 · Team Murphy Media, Smyrna, Delaware.
